Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out the rules for using the website, platform, training and interactive features of Interic Ltd, trading as Food Safe Ireland ("Food Safe Ireland", "we", "us", "our"). It forms part of our Terms and Conditions. By using our Services you agree to comply with this AUP. It applies to everything you do on our Services, including any messaging, discussion, community, comment or content-sharing features we may provide. Breaching this AUP may lead to the removal of content, suspension or termination of your Account, invalidation of certificates, and, where appropriate, referral to the authorities.

1. General Principles

You must use our Services lawfully, honestly, respectfully and only for their intended purpose of accessing and completing training and engaging constructively with our community. You must not use our Services in any way that breaks the law, harms us, our staff, other users or any third party, or that brings our Services into disrepute.

2. Prohibited Content

You must not upload, post, share, transmit, link to or otherwise make available, through any feature of our Services, any content that:

  • Sexualises or endangers children — any content that sexualises a minor, constitutes child sexual abuse material, or that grooms, solicits, exploits or endangers a child in any way. This is strictly and absolutely prohibited.
  • Is sexual or pornographic — pornography, sexually explicit material, or other obscene or indecent content.
  • Is violent or promotes violence — graphic violence, or content that incites, threatens, glorifies or facilitates violence against any person or group.
  • Promotes terrorism or extremism — content that supports, promotes or facilitates terrorism, violent extremism or the activities of proscribed organisations.
  • Is hateful or discriminatory — content that is racist, or that incites or promotes hatred, discrimination or hostility against any person or group on the basis of race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief, age, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, membership of the Traveller community, or any other protected characteristic.
  • Harasses or bullies — content that harasses, bullies, intimidates, threatens, stalks or abuses any person.
  • Promotes illegal drugs or controlled substances — content that sells, supplies, promotes or facilitates illegal drugs or the misuse of controlled substances.
  • Promotes other illegal goods or acts — content relating to weapons, fraud, money laundering, human trafficking, modern slavery, or any other unlawful goods, services or activity.
  • Promotes self-harm — content that encourages, promotes or provides instructions for suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
  • Is defamatory or unlawful — content that is defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, or that infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any person.
  • Compromises privacy — the personal data of any other person shared without a lawful basis and their consent.

3. Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse Material

We have zero tolerance for any content or conduct that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child. Where we become aware of child sexual abuse material or of any attempt to groom, solicit or exploit a minor through our Services, we will remove it, preserve relevant evidence, suspend or terminate the Account involved, and report the matter to An Garda Síochána and, where appropriate, to hotline.ie or other competent authorities. We will cooperate fully with any lawful investigation.

4. Prohibited Conduct

Regardless of the content involved, you must not:

  • use our Services for any unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or harmful purpose;
  • share, sell or transfer your Account or login details, or allow another person to access your Account or to complete training or assessments in your name;
  • impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, other users' accounts, or any data or area not intended for you;
  • introduce viruses, malware, ransomware or any other harmful or disruptive code;
  • interfere with, overload, disrupt or attempt to circumvent the security of the platform or its underlying infrastructure;
  • scrape, harvest, copy or extract data or content from our Services by automated means;
  • use any communication or community feature to send spam, scams, chain messages, unsolicited advertising or unlawful content; or
  • collect or store other users' personal data without a lawful basis and their consent.

5. Account and Certificate Integrity

Your Account and the training records associated with it are personal to you as the named learner. Because we provide compliance training, it is essential that the person named on a certificate is the person who actually completed the training and assessment. Allowing someone else to use your Account, or completing training or assessment on behalf of another person, is a serious breach of this AUP and our Certification & Assessment Policy.

6. Standards for Your Submissions

Any content you submit (for example, assignment uploads, comments or messages) must be your own or content you are entitled to use, must be relevant and respectful, and must comply with sections 2 to 4 above. You are solely responsible for the content you submit, and you grant us the right to host, store and, where necessary, review or remove it in order to operate the Services and enforce this AUP.

7. Monitoring and Moderation

We are not obliged to monitor all content, but we reserve the right to review, moderate, edit or remove any content, and to monitor use of our communication and community features, in order to operate our Services, protect our users (particularly any minors), enforce this AUP and comply with the law. We may use a combination of automated tools and human review. The fact that content has not been removed does not mean we have approved it.

8. Reporting Misuse

If you see content or behaviour that breaches this AUP, please report it to us promptly at [email protected]. If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact An Garda Síochána by dialling 112 or 999. Suspected child sexual abuse material can also be reported confidentially to hotline.ie.

9. Consequences of Breach

If you breach this AUP, we may take any action we consider appropriate, including issuing a warning, removing or restricting content, suspending or terminating your Account, invalidating affected certificates, preserving evidence, and reporting the matter to An Garda Síochána or other authorities. Where your Account is terminated for breach, you may lose access to Courses without a refund. We may also take legal action and seek to recover any losses we suffer as a result of your breach.

10. Supervised Minors and Youth Groups

Where training is delivered to supervised minors through a youth group, school or similar organisation, the responsible leader or organisation is responsible for supervising those learners' use of our Services and for ensuring they comply with this AUP. We may restrict or disable community and messaging features for supervised minor accounts. We do not communicate with supervised minors through WhatsApp or other direct personal messaging channels; any uploads, assessments and communications for these learners go through the responsible Group Leader and the platform.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and your continued use of our Services constitutes acceptance of the revised AUP.
