What a genuine certificate looks like.
Every certificate we issue follows this layout — course details on the left, verification panel with the certificate ID and QR code on the right. A genuine QR code always opens foodsafeireland.ie. If a code sends you anywhere else, treat the certificate as suspect and contact us.

The two details that matter are in the verification panel: the certificate ID and the QR code. Names and course titles can be copied — a register match against the unique ID can’t.
Certificate not found? Here’s what to do.
A “No Certificate Found” result doesn’t always mean a certificate is fake. The most common reasons are far simpler:
Check the ID for typos
Certificate IDs are long, and characters like 0 and O or 1 and I are easy to mix up. Re-enter the ID exactly as it’s printed on the certificate.
Just issued? Try again
Certificates join the register the moment they’re issued. If the pass happened minutes ago, refresh the page and search once more.
Issued by someone else
We can only verify certificates issued by Food Safe Ireland. Certificates from other training providers won’t appear on our register.
Still nothing? We’ll check by hand
Request a manual check and our team will verify the certificate ID against the register directly, with a written answer within 1–2 business days.
