Fire warden training
for the workplace

When the alarm sounds, everyone else's job is to leave. The warden's job is everything else — the sweep, the assembly point, the missing name on the list. About 85 minutes trains that role properly, fire safety foundations included.

The role

The person who checks the building.

Irish workplaces are expected to have designated staff responsible for fire response — and in a hotel or restaurant that responsibility includes guests who don't know the exits exist. Built around Irish and UK legislation, this course starts with the fire safety foundations every warden needs, then trains the role itself: duties before, during and after an emergency, inspections, the evacuation sweep, assembly-point control and supporting the fire brigade when they arrive.

When the alarm sounds, the fire warden's job is to:

The warden checks their area — toilets, cold rooms, corners — and moves people to the assembly point. Everyone else leaves; the warden makes sure of it.

At the assembly point, the warden's key task is to:

Account for every person and report it to the brigade. The one thing you never do is re-enter the building to look for someone.

Fire drills should be:

Run them, record them, learn from them. A drill that finds a blocked exit has done more for safety than a year of posters.

0/3

That's a taste of it. The full course covers everything an inspector — or a bad day — can throw at you, and the certificate proves it.

Questions

Fire Warden questions, answered plainly.

Whoever is named as responsible when the alarm goes — typically one or two people per floor or shift. Managers and supervisors are the usual choice, since they're present and already carry authority.

In practice, yes — 'fire marshal' is the more common term in the UK, 'fire warden' in Ireland, and workplaces use them interchangeably. This course covers the role under either title, and the certificate serves both.

Enough to cover every shift and every area — a warden who's off on Tuesdays isn't covering Tuesday. Most small premises train two or three; larger or multi-floor buildings need more. Seat pricing drops as you add people.

The warden course covers the awareness material and then the role on top, so it stands alone. The rest of the team should hold Fire Safety so the warden isn't the only person who knows what to do.

Yes — 2 CPD credits under activity number 1015942, delivered by a CPD-approved provider. Your certificate shows the activity number so it can be checked independently.

About 85 minutes, and you don't have to do it in one go. Your progress saves automatically, so you can stop and pick up where you left off on any device.

No — and that's deliberate. Lessons unlock in order, and each video has to be watched through before the next opens. It's still self-paced: stop, resume and rewatch whenever suits. But nobody can skip to the assessment, which is exactly why the certificate is worth accepting.

You retake it, free. There's no charge for additional attempts — we'd rather you knew the material than paid us twice.

The moment you pass. It's issued instantly in your name with a unique ID and QR code, ready to download, print or send on. It's valid for three years.

Then you get your money back. If your employer doesn't accept your certificate within 60 days of issue, we'll refund you in full on production of a letter confirming it. Terms and conditions apply.

Yes, and there's no minimum spend. Buy seats, add your team, and manage everyone's progress and certificates from your dashboard — from your very first seat. Seat pricing drops at 2, 5, 20 and 50 seats.
